Foki beach
Foki is one of the most spectacular beaches of Kefalonia, as it is a deep cove nestling in the depth of a verdant cypress hill, while just before the beach there is a cluster of olives offering plenty of shade. Direct contact of the dark green of the trees with the blue of the sea associated with the fine white line forming the pebbles and rocks, create a set of incomparable beauty.
The instructions for access to this beach are almost unnecessary as the visitor who leaves Fiskardo going to the villages of Tselentata, Matsoukata and Manganos, meets her in front of him! The beach was named after the frequent presence of the Monachus-Monachus seal that often visits the bay!
The beach is eastern but it offers shade all day due to dense vegetation. However, for those who have a particular sensitivity to the sun, Foki is an ideal choice in the afternoon hours that is completely shaded as the sun has tilted behind the hill. The waters are spotless and the bay is not windy, so the beach is safe for children and is preferred by families. Those who prefer diving go from the rocky path to the rock, while those who are willing to explore swim to the cave at the entrance of the bay. Behind the beach and the street, there is a tavern that is not visible from the sea and does not disturb the landscape.
In Foki there is the possibility of parking on the side of the road, however in the peak season there may be some difficulty in parking. Yet even when the beach is bustling, the visitor has the feeling that swimmers and boats do not float in the sea but hang in the air because of the incredible cleanliness of the water!
